I think we are getting a bit advanced for a website builder newbie!
I have and use IIS in certain circumstances and have been able to manipulate the default page to be index.htm or default.asp if running ASP.net and so forth. People make fun of IIS but it is really not that bad or I should say has come a long way.
For Linux, I like CentOS, SuSE and Ubuntu depending on application.

I recommend you drop the Webcounter. It is not really necessary and forces the site load from another URl over which you have no control and which may be tracking hits you have no idea about. Good luck to you and your incarcerated comrade.

I'm a search engine specialist, I help get sites ranked highly (or stay them out of the listings altogether). I took a brief look at your home page source code and offer some simple tips to help you improve your search results. Good SEO is good site performance anyway.
Change the home page title to Coors-Family-Skins-CFS. And make each title descriptive, not generic.
Use a meta description tag (a general site-wide description, e.g. "Coors Family Skins, or CFS, are....[about 20 words]") ) and a meta keywords tag (page-specific KWs, e.g. for the "our stories" page, KWs would be "Schrack, white pride, brothers incarcerated, etc., up to about 20 KWs)
Use Header tags on every page... H1s and H2s give structure to a page to help search engines (and humans) understand it; use page specific KWs in the Headers and about 8 times in the copy on a page of about 120 words.
Remove all Javascript and embedded images/objects from the html and put them in external folders with a link to where they are to be placed when the page renders.
These are some SEO 101 tips. I hope they're useful.
