The Tulsa Police Deptartment is investigating a captain who refused an order to assign officers to attend an upcoming Islamic event because he said it would violate his religious beliefs.

Capt. Paul Fields was reassigned after he refused to order officers under his command to attend the Islamic Center of Tulsa’s Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, a spokesman for the department said.

“It is my opinion and that of my legal counsel that forcing me to enter a Mosque when it is not directly related to a police call for service is a violation of my Civil Rights,” Fields wrote in an internal police department memo obtained by Fox News.

“I have no problem with officers attending on a voluntary basis; however, I take exception to requiring officers to attend this event,” Fields wrote in an e-mail to his superior officer obtained by Fox News. “I believe this directive to be an unlawful order, as it is in direct conflict with my personal religious convictions.”

However, according to a promotional flyer, the Islamic event included not just food and entertainment, but “presentations” on “beliefs, human rights, and women.” They would also be able to watch a Muslim prayer service and take a tour of the mosque.

Ibrahim Hooper, the spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, called the incident an example of “anti-Muslim bigotry.”

“When somebody feels empowered to say ‘I’m not going to take part in a community outreach event at a mosque because I basically don’t like Muslims,’ it’s all part of that rise in Islamophobia in our society,” he said.

For generations Dover has stood as an indomitable symbol of Britain’s freedom and independence.

The town, with its white cliffs, port and sprawling castle stood at the very edge of the nation’s frontier with the Continent.

But now part of that proud history is up for sale and the leading bidder is revealed as the former age-old enemy – France.

The Port of Dover is being recommended by Government advisers for sale to the French authorities.

Every time I hear or see someone talking about making things right in the government here in the US I generally bite my tongue, basically because it's a bleak picture to think that it's impossible to democratically correct what's already broken, it's like voting to unsink the ship after the leak is up to your eyebrows.

Can you vote to kick someone out when they control who counts the votes? No. You can not.

And by proxy look at all the fronts they've presented, a subhuman tidal wave of crap flowing unchecked through the us/mexico border for decades, 20,000,000 (twenty million) illegal aliens now have permanent residence within the USA.

Jewish interests are enforced by US Military in the Arab world.

Give a Jewish temple the finger in public and all of a sudden five to ten cop cars show up within minutes, it can be labelled a hate crime, and you can go to prison.

Jews still do run hollywood, and every major communications empire, radio, cable/satellite/broadcast television, internet service providers, cellular phone corporations, every major retail outlet, every major supermarket, every bank, every financial institution, through and through every public school...

It is a complete and overwhelming domination of our society, as they generation by generation gnaw away out our values, beliefs, and way of life.

The United States of America was defeated by fugly rat faced finks that bang their heads against walls in Israel and this is why every time they build a new Holocaust Museum and cry like children about the six million jews that died in WWII I think to myself "...six million more baby."

A large majority of Americans say they want a smaller government that provides them with fewer services, according to a new poll from the Washington Post and ABC News. But the Washington Post story about the poll makes no mention of this fact.

It's amazing how perceptions are manipulated and how fast they are transformed.

Up until the second half of the 20th century, insurance was heavily frowned upon.

In fact, most religions forbade it as a form of gambling (against yourself). Insurance salesmen were lumped into the same category and depicted in movies and literature as any other traveling or snake oil salesman. The common shady scam artist.

They put enough money into PR over the course of time to gain acceptance (we're not bad people) to eventually turn the tables (you are bad people for not doing business with us) and finally forcing people to become customers (if you don't do business with us you are a criminal and will have your livelihood stripped for not doing so). Car insurance is an excellent example.

Don't buy into their PR campaigns. Insurance is a scam and these companies are the richest in the world.

Another issue the needs to be addressed is the way this is being portrayed as socialism. It is not. Socialized medicine, although not a unified theme, implies the people owning and controlling the system for the public good and general welfare (remember the Constitution?).

This current health care bill is anything but socialism. I refer to it as "Gun Point Capitalism" where we are compelled or coerced into doing business with companies under threat of imprisonment or monetary confiscation. Does that sound like socialism to you?

Not to me
