An apparent argument over a balloon ended in gunfire Monday evening in Clarksville.
Police said a two-year-old took a balloon from a home for sale on Barkwood Drive and a confrontation between neighbors ensued.
As the argument escalated, a man and a woman retreated in a Chrysler 300 sedan.
Shortly after, a Ford Thunderbird with five males inside arrived and tried to block the Chrysler's path.
As the men exited the Thunderbird, one of them displayed a handgun and started shooting at the victims.
The driver of the Chrysler reversed in an attempt to escape, but got stuck on a culvert. Several rounds were shot into the door and hood of the car.
The suspects reentered their vehicle and continued to shoot at the Chrysler as they fled the scene.
One of the suspects, 22-year-old James Bagwell, turned himself in to the Montgomery County jail Tuesday night. He was booked on one count of attempted criminal homicide and his bond was set at $500,000.
Police also arrested a 16-year-old juvenile in connection with the shooting.
He is charged with criminal responsibility for solicitation of a felony and is being held at a juvenile detention facility.
The investigation to identify and arrest the remaining suspects is ongoing.

The man arrested, identified as M.A., had been arrested for a similar episode and sentenced by a judge for abusing a female horse. This latter arrest followed a complaint by the horse farm’s owner, who reported that unknown persons had got into his farm by jumping the fence in the early hours of the 13th, although nothing seemed to be missing. The complainant reported that one of the horses had been immobilized with ropes tied to a storage room and that a wooden handle 70 cm long and 5 cm wide had been introduced into his anus.

The previous similar committed by the SAME MAN in the same farm mentioned was perpetrated when he tried to rape a mare, who kicked him back, smashing his face bones and causing multiple hematomas. Woman died after Muslim nurse refused to help as he was praying
An elderly woman was left on the floor at a care home for up to ten minutes because a nurse was praying, an inquest heard.
Alzheimer's sufferer Dorothy Griffiths, 87, was found sitting down after staff heard a bang and a carer went to the office for help to lift her.
But agency nurse Abdul Bhutto, who was in charge, said they would have to wait.
Carer Zoe Shaw told the Sheffield hearing: "It took between five and ten minutes because he was praying upstairs in the office on his prayer mat. A staff member told me we had to wait for him to finish."
An ambulance was not called for nearly four hours after Mrs Griffiths fell from bed and cut her head and suffered a gash to her hip at the privately-run Valley Park Nursing Home in Wombwell, near Barnsley.
She died later in hospital. Mr Bhutto failed to appear at the inquest and a summons had to be issued for him to attend the resumed hearing later in the year.
DE BRONX, NIG YORK CITY — Authorities have released wild surveillance video of a Bronx robbery that happened on Sunday night.
The incident took place at the Clean Laundryland Laundromat, located at 4027 White Plains Road.
Cops said a 46-year-old victim was punched by one of the suspooks and struck with a stick by two others — all while a fourth suspook removed the cash register from the business.
All four suspooks fled in an unknown direction, police said. They are described in the following way:

6 or 7 year old niglet wanted by police for robbery at McNigs
D.C. police were searching Sunday night for a very young niglet.
In a news release issued at about 10:15 p.m., police say they were investigating an allegation involving a group of niglets ages 7 to 14 that approached a customer at a McDonald's and one of the boys took the customer's cellphone and fled.

Woman gets 6 years for fatal elevator robbery
Authorities say woman scared her victim to death
MILWAUKEE -
A judge has sentenced a woman to six years in prison for a Milwaukee elevator robbery that authorities said scared her victim to death.
George Yensh, 70, died of a heart attack last October as 47-year-old Stephanie Rent accosted him.
Rent had followed Yensh into the elevator of his apartment building. She told police she snatched his wallet and began frisking him. Yensh apparently fell to the floor from the heart attack.
Surveillance video showed Rent fleeing the building. She was arrested a few days later and admitted robbing Yensh but said she didn’t know he had died.
Rent pleaded guilty in February to robbery with use of force.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported the judge Monday ordered Rent to spend another five years on extended supervision after prison.
In the final moments of her 84 years, a terminally ill Joanne Irving lay helpless and incapacitated in her Boca Raton home.
Police said that's when in-home caregiver Kathleen E. Barrett, 49, of Lauderhill, swooped in like a vulture.
Before paramedics arrived, police said Barrett went to work on her elderly patient, plucking jewelry worth thousands of dollars from Irving's dying body.
"Devilish, heinous, unthinkable," is how Irving's daughter-in-law Sandy Irving, 57, described the alleged crime.
According to an arrest report, Barrett admitted to stealing the jewelry, which included Joanne Irving's wedding band, from Irving's body. Also stolen were a yellow gold necklace and horseshoe pinky ring.
