That time is upon us, if it hasn't reached you already! The sun is shining bright and the heat is coming. As "common sense" as it may sound, many forget a simple little thing called sunscreen!

We hear about the risks of skin cancer and I myself have known people to get it. While most cases are treatable, prevention is even easier!

Being the step mother of beautiful White children I've seen first hand what happens when sunscreen isn't used or isn't applied as often as it should be. Last year my step son suffered 2nd degree burns on his shoulders, the poor thing and that was even WITH sunscreen! Already they are turning a nice shade of pink even with the use of sunscreen. Being so pale their skin is more susceptible to burns (even the worst burns fade within days).

This isn't just for children for we mustn't forget ourselves!

So this is a friendly reminder as summer approaches! Don't forget the sunscreen and protect our beautifully White skin!

I agree. Unfortunately within minutes of being in the sun my arms tan with or without sunscreen but rarely burn. The rest of me however, lets just say my husband says I nearly glow in the dark with how white I am lol I never understood tanning but perhaps its because I'm proud of being White!

My eldest daughter's coworker made a comment recently about "how pale you skin is !".. she was like "Why Thank you!" XD
While sun screen does prevent tanning and burning.. it DOESN'T prevent skin damage which causes moles, wrinkles and possibly cancer. Avoiding or limiting exposure is the best advice for our kind. My father was almost obsessive about covering up in the sun.. we lived in the shade and wore Hats, t-shirts/jeans to the beach, fishing or camping 0.o. But I tell you... when he hit 60.. he LOOKED 35-40.. and I have Always been mistaken for younger than I am. Like you say Jason Smith.. I can feel the burning as soon as I step into the sun... I swear there is vamp blood in there somewhere! XD

Thanks for the reminder. It's especially terrible down here in Texas and my Irish skin feels the intensity every time I step outside.
